Spring Powered Pitching Machines

Spring powered pitching machines use heavy springs to pitch the ball. These machines are generally lower in price ($150 is a typical price) and are frequently used to provide consistent pitches in some levels of little league play. Some of these pitching machines allow the pitcher to choose the speed of the pitch (by choosing the tension of the spring) although they cannot throw curveballs. All in all, spring powered machines can be an effective tool for baseball and softball teams - especially at lower levels.
